The Worldwide Ireland Funds Young Leaders Summit 2015  Visit YLS4
Thursday, January 15th, 150 Young Leaders from five countries and eleven cities converged on New York City for the fourth annual Global Young Leaders Summit, AKA #YLS4NYC.

The Young Leaders Society brings together young professionals to network and support the philanthropic work of The Worldwide Ireland Funds while connecting them to modern Ireland in a meaningful way. The Young Leaders Society provides a forum for emerging philanthropists to become closely involved with the mission of The Worldwide Ireland Funds as well as with prominent business and civic leaders who support the organization.

The Young Leaders Society events around the world have recognized influential Irish and Irish American personalities who have made significant contributions to their fields while personifying the Irish spirit. Denis Leary, Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Fallon, Holt McCallany, Colum McCann, Margaret Brennan, Shaun O'Hara, John Duddy and US Ambassador Dan Rooney are among those who have been honored by the Young Leaders Society.

All supporters are welcome at Young Leader Society events. In addition, Young Leaders Society Membership goes beyond events to offer benefits and opportunities exclusive to members. Benefits vary by location.

Examples of Projects Supported by Young Leaders

The Young Leaders Society has raised over $1 million for the work of The American Ireland Fund. Below are just a few examples of projects that have benefited from this network.

PeacePlayers International

PeacePlayers is a unique organization that uses the medium of basketball to work towards peace and reconciliation in Northern Ireland. As a sport with no affiliation to any religious or cultural identity in the North, basketball provides a neutral playing field for Catholic and Protestant children.

Special Olympics Ireland

The mission of Special Olympics Ireland provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with learning disabilities.

Rowallane Integrated College In Northern Ireland

94% of children attend religiously segregated schools, perpetuating years of cultural and social divisions. The Integrated Education Movement grew out of a desire by parents in Northern Ireland to have their children educated in integrated schools. Rowallane Integrated College (the equivalent of US high school) is the only third level school in the area.
